Skirt Making Class – December 17 @ 10:30 AM (Taught by Val)

Date: December 17 Time: 10:30 AM Instructor: Val Location: (add shop/studio name + address here) Join Val for a hands-on skirt-making class where you’ll learn how to sew a custom, measurement-based skirt from scratch! Using techniques from the book “Sew What? Skirts,” Val will guide you through drafting your own pattern, adding pockets, and creating a comfortable elastic-waist skirt that fits your body. Book is not included with the ticket but may be available for purchase separately. This class is perfect for confident beginners who know how to use their sewing machine and are ready to learn a simple garment project. What to Bring (Supply List) Please bring the following to class: Sewing machine in good working order Sewing shears Small scissors for clipping threads Straight pins Tape measure Yardstick or longer ruler (18”+) Seam ripper Seam gauge Disappearing chalk or fabric-marking pen Thread to match your fabric Elastic: 3/4" – 1 1/2" wide Length: waist measurement + 1" (or about 1 1/2 yards) Non-roll elastic recommended Fabric Requirements: Small–Large, minimal fullness: 2 × your desired skirt length XL or larger, or if you want a fuller skirt: 3 × your desired skirt length (44–45" wide fabric such as quilting cotton, rayon, linen blends, etc., works great.) Embroidery Club with Marie

Come learn to machine embroider. Bring your machine or use ours. Marie will have projects to do every month, based on what the group wants to learn! First class is a demo on July 26. Club will be the last Friday of each month.
